This is assuming ur trying to tune the guitar to its self
i use an electric tuner to tune the A string then use
natural harmonics to tune the rest
Natual harmonics are the sount a string makes when
its vibrating on both sides of one spot of the string
natural harmonics only work on certain frets of the guitar
The best spots for the natural harmonics are the 5th
7th 12th and 19th frets
for natural harmonic tuning ur going to use the 5th
and 7th frets...
now i use this alot cause i play songs in E and songs in
Drop D...and this is the easiest way to tune back to E
from Drop D...
once u have the A string tuned to A then take ur index
finger and place it above the 5th fret of the E
string(thickest string) just enough ur barely touching
the string then pick that string with ur right hand.....
it makes a harmonic sound...while thats still making a
sound do the same thing but on the 7th fret of the A
string(next one under the thickest) now u hear a
wobble sound....that means the strings arnt tuned
together....tighten or loosen the E string knob till the
sounds combine and sound exactly the same...
now for the d and the g strings ur doing the same thing
but instead of tuning the A to the D u want to tune
the D to the A also....so 5th fret of the A and the 7th
of the D this time turn the D strings's knob till the
sounds are exact....then do this to the G string tuning
it to the D string using the 5th and 7th frets...
the b string is alil more complicated....the harmonics are
fucked on this string so u need to press the 4th fret of
the G all the wat to the board and then strum the G
then the Band tune the B to sound like the G....
this one isnt natural harmonics but as far as i know u
cant tune this string using harmonics
now on the little e string(thinest) u can use
harmonics...but the sound of the harmonics are harder
to tell when they are actually the same so i just press
the 5th fret of the B to the board and then strum it
then the open e string and match that as it is easier
now ur guitar is tuned....assuming u followed my shitty
directions....so go and rock out or country out or
whatever beat ur gay lil heart fancies...lmfao
